There is a chickenpox outbreak at Marysville High School according to a press release from the St. Clair County Health Department. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the county health department recently identified the outbreak. Officials from the Marysville School District are working with the health department to identify approximately 37 susceptible, unvaccinated students. Chickenpox is a vaccine-preventable disease that spreads easily through the air. A person can spread the disease from 1 to 2 days before they get a rash. Symptoms include fever, headache, feeling tired, and an itchy rash. Vaccinations are available at your physician’s office, or through the St. Clair County Health Department.
