Jim Cottone, a mathematics and psychology teacher at Marysville High School, has been recognized as St. Clair County’s Distinguished Teacher for March. Cottone was presented with the award during a surprise classroom visit on Thursday, March 21. The Distinguished Teacher award, sponsored by RESA, is given monthly during the school year to educators who exemplify high teaching standards. Brenda Tenniswood, RESA director of Education Services, presented the award to him, saying, “Mr. Cottone is an incredibly dedicated teacher, combining great instructional expertise with a deep respect for his students. He creates a culture in his classroom that makes everyone enjoy the class, has fun, and learn more than they ever thought possible.”
