The City of Port Huron’s leaf pickup program is currently running 7 to 10 days behind schedule. The result is from the majority of leaves all dropping at once, as well as the unpredictable change in the weather. The delay in the program is not unique to the City of Port Huron. Port Huron joins a list of more than 15 communities in the region with similar leaf pickup programs who are also experiencing these delays. The leaf pickup program will continue on this mission until all leaves are picked up. City Engineer and Director of the Public Works Department, Mr. Eric C. Witter, P.E. stated the following: “The City is working cooperatively with the contractor, Emterra, to make sure that all the leaves are picked up within the City of Port Huron.” If there are any questions contact Emterra at 1-877-609-6753.
