Oh the pain of it all: Fuel prices continue to rise and the national average for a gallon of unleaded fuel set a new high for the year at $2.88. With the higher national average, you can count on one thing. The state of Michigan hasn’t been spared. AAA of Michigan says average gas prices statewide are up about 6 cents from that week, and up 3 cents from a year ago. Prices can range anywhere from two or three cents a gallon to as much as ten to fifteen cents depending on locations.
