Local non-profit and environmental protection and advocacy group Friends of the St. Clair River was the recipient of a surprise delivery this week and quite a large one at that. The group was notified in December by Amazon that the organization was one of a few hundred non-profits to have its Amazon wish list items purchased and this week the company delivered on its promise.

The initiative, dubbed #DeliveringSmiles, fulfilled items on the non-profits AmazonSmile Charity Lists. According to Amy Meeker-Taylor, Environmental Educator, the organization “did nothing as far as applying, this was a total surprise!”

Friends of the St. Clair River had over 30 different items on the Amazon wish list. The items Amazon delivered range from tweezers to an eight-foot folding table and total about $1,000 worth of items according to Meeker-Taylor. Friends of the St. Clair River says they will use the items to “deliver many watershed education programs with these supplies.”
