The Fort Gratiot Board of Trustees is waiving late fees and penalties for all furloughed Federal employees during the government shutdown. As stated from the board, some of their Fort Gratiot residents are facing financial hardships for reasons completely out of their control and the Fort Gratiot Board of Trustees is taking action to help ease the burden until this crisis is resolved. They will be waiving all late fees and penalties on utility bills and tax bills, and are granting a forty-five day grace period to pay the outstanding utility bill balances beginning with the date the government reopens.
