Exciting news for the SC4’s Athletic Department. The National Junior College Athletic Men’s Golf Coaches Association, has announced that St. Clair County Community College Athletic Director Dale Vos, will be inducted into its 2019 Hall of Fame class, alongside Kirkwood Community College’s Head Coach, Darin Pint. The induction marks another honor in what has been an exciting year for Vos, as he also was recently named Men’s Junior College Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. Vos has served as the sport’s chair for NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Association for 20 years. One of his first acts as chair was to move the national tournament to a course that met the standards of a championship event. After nearly two decades in charge, Vos has hosted the annual meetings at both the national tournament, as well as the NJCAA national meetings annually in the month of April. This year, Coach Vos led SC4 to a 27-8 record in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association — their highest win total since the 1968-69 season — Leading to an NJCAA District 10 Men’s Tournament Championship, and the team’s second appearance in the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. Congratulations Coach Vos for a job well done.
