The Southeast Michigan Health Association and public health partners throughout southeast Michigan encourage residents to practice healthy habits to protect themselves and others against colds and flu. Flu activity increases during the holidays, as people are gathering and spending time together in close contact. Some steps to take this holiday season to avoid being sick are get your flu shot, wash hands often, avoid close contact with those who are sick, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect surfaces, stay home when sick and lastly sneeze or cough into sleeve or tissue.
