The Blue Water area will get a special visitor this weekend as Canadian National Fiddle Champion Shane Cook is set to perform with the International Symphony Orchestra in their presentation of “A Celtic Crossing”. Cook has been described as one of the finest fiddlers in the world and is known for his variety of styles. He has won numerous awards for his Celtic fiddling in particular and is a Canadian fiddling champion. Having retired from the world of musical competition in 2006, Cook resides in London, Ontario, where he teaches the art. The International Symphony Orchestra has two presentations, one at the Imperial Theatre in Sarnia, and one at McMorran Theatre in Port Huron taking place January 17 and 18. The show will also have an appearance by traditional Pipers and Drummers and include the classic tear-jerker “Danny Boy”, among others. Tickets are $35 at theiso.org.
