The Michigan Department of Transportation will hold a public open house to discuss various proposed traffic improvements along M-29 in the city of St. Clair. The suggested changes would address traffic operation improvements and safety for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. MDOT plans to include discussion of a proposed road diet from Clinton Avenue to the north city limit, changing the current four-lane roadway into a three-lane road with a dedicated center left-turn lane. Potential changes to the existing on-street parking will also be available for comment, including an option for reverse angle parking. The open house will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd at the St. Clair City Hall starting at 5 pm.
