The Ks for Kids Fun Run that supports the Port Huron Schools Endowment Fund has been cancelled this year, but it is on the schedule for next year and will be better than ever.
Organizer Kim Dooley, of Port Huron, told us that she was excited to partner with Port Huron Parks and Recreation and run along the new riverside route. Dooley said that they raised over $17,000 last year and were on track to exceed their $20,000 goal this year. The race organizers plan to keep the same format for the next race when things get back to the new normal. The next Endowment event is the Crosstown Showdown, which is scheduled for October 9th, assuming large gatherings are permitted by then. According to Dooley, the Endowment Fund has given out over $135,000 to date and will continue to grow to support the community. Those who had already registered for this year’s Ks for Kids will begetting a refund within the next two weeks.
