The Michigan Department of Transportation will invest $461,000 in bridge improvements to M-25 over the Howe Drain in Fort Gratiot. Work includes replacing two beams, resurfacing the bridge deck, new concrete barrier railing, curb and gutter, and drainage improvements. A portion of this work will require closing and detouring M-25 at the Howe Drain. Beginning May 7, motorists are encouraged to follow the posted detour of Pine Grove Avenue and Keewahdin Road. Crews expect to remove the detour prior to the Memorial Day holiday weekend and complete the duration of the project with single-lane and shoulder closures. The estimated completion date is June 28th.
