MIGardener is experiencing a huge surge in online business. Even with their downtown Port Huron storefront closed, the local seed supplier has seen a 300% increase compared to normal spring orders in the past few weeks, temporarily crashing their website and creating waiting lists for some products. The recent Governor’s Executive Order closing off the garden aisles at large retailers has only added to the rush to order seeds and plants from online retailers. MIGardener co-owner, Luke Marion, told us that while he has been self-quarantining for precautionary health reasons, his wife, Sindy, has been putting in long hours fulfilling seed orders from internet sales. Marion said that it’s ok to give in to Spring Fever right now and plant things like lettuce, spinach, and other greens right into the garden outside. He said now is actually the best time to get those cold-resistant seeds in the ground. You can get garden tips and more at MIGardener.com.
