The Federal Emergency Management Agency or known as FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission, will conduct a nationwide test of the threes emergency systems. The nationwide test will occur on Thursday, September 20th, at approximately 2:20 pm. The test will assess the operational readiness of the program’s infrastructure for distribution of a national message and determine if technological improvements are needed. The test will be conducted with radio, television, and cable operators in all U.S. states, territories and tribal lands, and the wireless test will take place in coordination with participating wireless providers. This will be the first nationwide test using the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System and Wireless Emergency Alert.
