Art on the River is one of the few events still on the calendar for the summer. Organizer and President of Citizens for a Vibrant Community, Trina Avedisian, told us that the committee is moving forward with their plans at this time. While other Blue Water area events have been scrapped over anticipated lack of sponsors, Avedisian said that they “are not willing to give up the ship yet”. If things do go as planned, and public gatherings are permitted by then, the street fair-style event is scheduled for June 12-14 and will be held at Kiefer Park on the St. Clair River in Port Huron. The festival is a combination of music and art and vendors with events planned for all ages. The featured artist on the schedule for this year is Cecil Williams, who will be doing a painting exclusively for the event. Stay tuned as the social distancing mandates evolve to see if Art on River can indeed continue as planned.
