The cancellation of important academic rites of passage has left high school juniors and their families with a lot of questions. Eleventh graders were scheduled to take the SAT at school last week. That was cancelled, along with just about everything else that is part of the important Junior Year for high-schoolers. Nick Beaudry, the Career and College Consultant at St. Clair County RESA, said that current 11th graders should still plan on applying to their colleges of interest. Beaudry said the change to admissions processes is fluid and varies from institution to institution. He suggested Juniors keep working on their essays, researching programs, and taking virtual campus tours. The Blue Water College Access Network will be offering additional workshops in the fall prior to the new fall testing date and is publishing a weekly newsletter with additional resources. The newsletter can be found at sccresa.org.
