On Tuesday, August 21st there will be a groundbreaking for the DTE Blue Water Energy Center in East China Township. The plant will provide affordable and reliable power for 850,000 homes beginning in 2022. The $1 billion project will begin construction in 2019, creating hundreds of Michigan jobs. In attendance and speaking will be DTE Chairman & CEO Gerry Anderson, U.S. Representative Paul Mitchell, and St. Clair County Commissioner Chair Jeff Bohm.
