As one moves out another one moves in. Achatz soup from Skratch in Marine city, which opened its doors in March 2014, will be closing its retail business this week. With the demands of several businesses, owner Steve Achatz made the tough call to close the retail side of the business, but they’re not moving out just yet. That’s because there’s already someone moving in and the two businesses plan to work in cooperation with one another.
Big River Barbeque will open its doors Thursday, June 8 to mark the grand opening of the new restaurant. Big River Barbeque, known for serving classic southern smoke barbeque combines a “unique and tasteful authentic smoking technique to create an explosion of flavor and exceptional dining.” Customers will be able to purchase their favorite foods off the menu or buy in bulk. Achatz will offer soup and pies through the new storefront. So, a win-win for both businesses.
